Hilary - Technology Developer

Hilary received a first class degree in Physics from Cambridge University in 1995 and was sponsored through her degree by Halliburton Geophysical Services. She gained a Ph.D. from Durham University and continued with post doctoral work in the field of laser cooling.

In 2000 she joined the start-up QuantumBeam as an optical design engineer, developing free space optics for the telecom industry. She has experience in optical systems, magnetics and product development.

Hilary took a career break to have a family, working part-time teaching A-level physics and maths for 6 years, before joining Sentec in September 2010.

“Sentec is a friendly and flexible place to work. I have really enjoyed the variety provided by consultancy work, meeting clients and working on projects across a broad range of industries."

"My work has included concept generation, theoretical modelling and practical implementation. I have also become involved in development of products based on Sentec's core IP, where there is the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the energy and metering industry.”
