Case study: interface hardware
Background
As a manufacturer of test systems for diagnosis and pharmaceutical development, our partner was building a number of key relationships with large pharmaceutical companies. Maintaining these relationships by meeting challenging targets was crucial.
Opportunity
With customer feedback, the partner was integrating key changes to the user interface and software of their system that required a parallel redesign of the interface hardware. The first systems needed to be delivered to the customer on a very aggressive timescale.
Our approach
From a blank sheet of paper we developed a highly complex system, including embedded software and security features, that was smaller and had lower power consumption than the previous design. By working intimately with our partners, using our knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and early testing of all our design assumptions, we delivered the system in less than half the time predicted.
The results
The hardware worked first time and the product was delivered to the customer on time. Our partner now has a new product line and repeat business with his client.
