Tom Fryers, Commercial Director
Tom joined Sentec in 2003 with particular responsibility for developing sales in Sentec’s licensable IP and contract development businesses. Under his guidance, Sentec has developed its IP licensing business into a sophisticated process, with a focus on the utilities sector and valuable IP in gas, water and electricity metering, and energy management in general. Strong relationships have been established with global names in the utility sector. Sentec’s interests are now genuinely global, with deals in Europe, the USA and Asia. He is also a recognised authority on the impact of smart metering developments, contributing regularly to industry publications and as a speaker.
Prior to Sentec, Tom worked for two of the UK’s biggest IT services companies: CS Rand and Data Sciences, building long term, complex relationships with large concerns. At CS Rand Tom built the company’s Utility business into a profitable division earning more than 20% of the company’s revenue and built new relationships worth over £7 million in the utilities & transport sector. At Data Sciences he established the company as the dominant player in land/air warfare modelling and increased the division business tenfold.
Tom is a Chartered Engineer, with a BSc from Leeds University.
